The hard part about covering this Serge Gainsbourg-Jane Birkin duet: singing like a panting, inebriated French couple without sounding like two women doing a karaoke parody of said panting, inebriated French couple. Somehow, Elson and Chan Marshall of Cat Power pull it off here with breathless style.
