Fall TV Preview: Friday

8 pm: America’s Funniest Home Videos (ABC), Ghost Whisperer (CBS), Crossing Jordan (NBC), Nanny 911 (Fox), WWE Smackdown (CW)

9 pm: Men in Trees (ABC), Close to Home (CBS), Las Vegas (NBC), Trading Spouses (Fox)

10 pm: 20/20 (ABC), Numb3rs (CBS), Law & Order (NBC), Battlestar Galactica (Sci Fi)

I, of course, have an active social life and would never be home watching TV on a Friday night. That being said, Battlestar Galactica! You have to watch this show.

I have previously posted about the odd appeal of Ghost Whisperer. It's not TiVo material, though. More there's-nothing-else-on material.

Old school Law & Order is returning with a new, female, detective and a new ADA. Check out this amazingly detailed wikipedia entry about the show.

All I know about Men in Trees is that it stars Anne Heche and it is set in Alaska.

Battlestar Galactica! YAY! The second half of the second season isn't available on DVD yet, but I've been watching it on my little ipod screen instead of reading a book before I go to bed, and it's so sooo awesome. I've heard that the second season finale will blow my little world apart, so I cannot wait for the third season to begin.

I can't believe Anne Heche got her own prime time show (though it has gotten the Friday slot of death.) Remember when she was so wonderful on Another World playing the twins Marly and whatevertheotherone'snamewas? Before she fell in love with Ellen, and then got pregnant by a man, and went generally kookoopants by insisting she was visiting from another galaxy? I liked her then. But now, who can take her seriously? She RUINED a large chunk of a season of Everwood for me because I had to fastforward through all the scenes where she was cheating on her STROKE VICTIM husband with Andy Brown and it was so so gross. In case I didn't make it clear, I will not be watching Men in Trees.

Marly and Vicky! VICKY! Vicky was the best. I even liked her when played by Jensen Buchanan, because I had a crush on Jensen Buchanan. She might have been my first girl crush. Super cute. Anne was really good on Another World, but since then I don't know that I have seen her in anything but that awful castaway movie with Harrison Ford.

I'm totally watching Las Vegas. I know, I'm the only one.

Sigh. I still miss Joan of Arcadia.

Looks like we'll be watching Food Network or DVDs until BSG comes on at 9pm (my time).

Laura, make sure you watch the S2 finale before S3 starts, or nothing will make sense. :)
