OMG Idol.
There's not much more to say other than I like everyone else was totally shocked that Chris got the Idol boot. Three observations: (1) Rebecca Romijn's "impromptu" request for Taylor to sing Jailhouse Rock was ridiculous; (2) Ryan could not have been more abruptly awkward in breaking the news to Chris; and (3) Elliott appears to be losing his voice and that would be really bad for his chances.
I'm hoping that Chris's fanbase will now support Elliott, but who knows. It's really anyone's game at this point.
Not sure what the theme is for next week -- anyone?

Didn't Chris look angry at the end? Was he, or was he just trying to keep it together?
There is no theme this week. It is three songs from each singer--contestant's choice, judge's choice and Clive Davis' choice. Randy chose "You Are So Beautiful" by Joe Cocker for Taylor, but I don't know about Elliott and Katharine.
Chris had been planning to sing "Dream On" by Aerosmith for the song of his choice before he was kicked off.
