I just watched the most recent episode of Ugly Betty last night, and I really love that show. It's funny, it's campy, it's sensitive. It has it all!
I love it too!
I'm TiVoing it, but it's the only thing left on my Tivo (other than last night's Heroes). It just has that cringe factor that makes me really uncomfortable.
It's one of my new favorites. It is cringeworthy, but like I said in my initial review, the cringeing is tempered by the belief that Betty is (a) better than the people making fun of her and (b) going to kick some serious ass one of these days.
Yeah, there were definite cringe moments in the last episode, but I agree with Holt on this one. Also, although Betty is sometimes saddened by her moments of cringe, she seems to recognize that she's not perfect, but she's better than the people laughing at her. And she has friends to support her. So I'm able to get past it.
