This is really disturbing, and I had trouble watching it all the way through.
I was wondering whether this had made the news, and a quick Google search told me it definitely has. According to UCLA, the UCLA police asked the student for his ID, he wouldn't give it, and when he tried to get others to participate in his act of disobedience, the police tasered him.
The student, Mostafa Tabatabainejad, is now suing, and has claimed the police officers racially profiled him and used excessive force.
I saw this on Countdown with Keith Olbermann last night. Very, very disturbing. One question though--is Tabatabainejad a UCLA student. If he is not, it does not, in any way, justify what was done to him, but I am curious.
It's not uncommon at UC schools for people to take five or more years to get their undergraduate degree. It can be hard to get into the courses you need. In some circles, five years is the norm.

Yeah, he's a senior. Although since he's 23 I wonder if he's a super-senior. But a senior nonetheless.
Perhaps he was red shirted?
